Good advice, thanks! Right now, the issue is less about tutorials and more about the drive to start. Remember that Fight Club scene where they tell the gas station clerk that if he's not pursuing his dream (becoming a veterinarian) 6 months from now, they'll kill him? This is the sort of external (or very strong internal) motivation I need. :)
